Child's Play

I enjoy doing things for charity. When I was growing up I volunteered often, and now that I am adult, any time I hear of a charity auction, I try and do a piece of artwork to go along with the theme of the charity to be auctioned off :D

I have a friend who is working with Child’s Play, a charity of gamers who work with children’s hospitals all over the world, and I jumped on the chance to do this piece. The game they will be playing during the donation drive is one I have found great creativity stemming from - Minecraft

Minecraft is what is known as a sandbox game that starts you out in an open world filled with blocks of different types (wood, stone, sand, etc.) and from there you craft items to build and create anything your mind can imagine.

For the painting I did some of the most well known blocks in the game:

The Grass Block is synonymous with the game, as it is their main logo & The Wood Log is the starting point, as without wood in the game, you could not craft all your tools :)

The Diamond Ore is the prized possession in the game, once you start mining - it is a race to find diamond, as it is the strongest material in the game for tools and armor, and who doesn’t love diamonds <3 The TNT is one of the fun blocks in the game, used for demolition or traps, or sometimes people just use it to blow huge gaping holes in the ground :P At the end of the day, I knew anyone who had played Minecraft would know these blocks!

And being that the charity drive would be presented to a bunch of Minecraft players… I figured I could not go wrong!

These are being auctioned off from 12am EST May 5th to 12am EST May 6th, highest donation in that 24 hour time span WINS! If you would like something done like this custom, just contact me :)
